Welcome to my blog!
I love music, acting, singing, and playing the good Piano :)
I will be updating my blog whenever I have free time :)
Welcome!
After Davey's father is killed in a hold-up, she and her mother and younger brother visit relatives in New Mexico. Here Davey is befriended by a young man who helps her find the strength to carry on and conquer her fears.
Having read this book, I realised how much strength it takes to get over a loved one. "Tiger Eyes" is mainly about a death in the family and how it almost tears a family apart. Davey's father is the one who suddenly gets shot and killed during a robbery at his convenience store. This then makes Davey and her mom (Gwen) experience depression to its full extent, so they decide that they need a change of scenery. They go to stay with Davey's aunt (Bitsy) and uncle (Walter) in New Mexico until Davey and her mom get back on their feet. While there, she will experience some major turmoil with her aunt and uncle, including argumentative behavior and family abuse, but to ease it up a little, she meets a man called 'Wolf' while she's exploring a canyon, and he's somewhat going through the same thing she is. Davey has to find a way to help her mom and herself get over the tragedy, while trying to do what she can to put her life back together and regain her strength and confidence which she had before her father was killed.
In conclusion, I found this book extremely strong and emotional in depth which the context of the book and Judy Blume (The Author) were trying to portray. She really submersed the reader into the pain and grief that the main character 'Davey' experienced, and it was exceptional!
Therefore I will now leave you with some quotes from the book itself:
“Each of us must confront our own fears, must come face to face with them. How we handle our fears will determine where we go with the rest of our lives. To experience adventure or to be limited by the fear of it.”
“Some changes happen deep down inside of you. And the truth is, only you know about them. Maybe that's the way it's supposed to be.”
Cuando los lagartijos corren
...
tu la vida es una buena aventura.
It's the beginning of a brand new year. 2012! Many people say that they are going to change, change as in transform their whole personality for a start of every new year! But you shouldn't think like that... Don't just change because you feel like changing, understand that you are who you are! You shouldn't change just because someone has told you too, or the idea that having a new year means a new "me".
You can change the way you go about doing certain things, or the way you think, the mind is an extraordinary thing, a human is capable of doing anything, reaching anything. If you have a dream, don't let anyone stop you... That's my new years resolution, "Never give up on something that you cannot go a day without thinking about!" For me, I want to try and draw closer towards reaching that dream that has been lurking within my mind for such a long time!
I wish you all the best for this year! Be happy, live life to its fullest... but most importantly have fun!
I guess you're wondering what the title is about? Well, I'm not really one to ever review a film, however, this one that I stumbled across was unlike any other teen movie that I have ever seen before! It is called "Can't Hardly Wait!" and it is an old film, made in 1998! But to be totally honest, movies are never too old! I think that this movie sparks the truth about those people who have finished high school and loved the experience! And when it ends, you look back on all of those good memories, and notice everything changing around you!
Also, the main character "Preston Meyers", played by one of my favourite actors "Ethan Embry", is in love with "Amanda Beckett", who is played by the beautiful "Jennifer Love Hewitt", and throughout the film, from the very start, it concentrates on Preston wanting to give that very special letter that he wrote for Amanda which addresses all of his feelings to her, seeing as in person, he can hardly speak his true feelings to her! Which was kind of like me back in high school! :) So this is why I loved this movie!
To be honest, I loved high school, and I appreciated every single second when I was there, which is why I can relate to what's going on in "Can't Hardly Wait" and can understand the message that the movie is trying to convey and understand what it's trying to tell you, and can feel that emotion. I feel like the film's message is simple, so simple and so true that it can relate to anyone...
"You should never let fate pass you by. You only get so many chances in life and never know how long your life will be, or where it may take you. Nothing lasts forever... so take advantage whilst you still can, or at least fight whilst trying to do so.
Sorry for not keeping my blog up to date, recently I have just been busy with College work, and everyday tasks in life!
Just imagine if there was a way where you were completely free to explore the world, without having to be tied down, by your job, by your sense of fear, by your negative thoughts on the world, and finally, by your relationships with loved ones.
What are you to do with your life? No one can tell, but if you just picture a life that is beautiful, and free from everything and everyone, all that stands in the world... is you! You are free to explore, you are free to be who you want to be, be gracious that we have been given something that is so precious, that no one can take away from you... The outer world, and beyond, there are no limits in which you can't explore!
Just think deeply about what I am going to say next...
Would you give up everything? Your job, your sense of fear, your negative thoughts on the world, and your relationships, with loved ones, just to explore the world... on your own, completely free from life, and others?
We were all brought into this world in order to search for a particular "Thing", or many things! What life really is, we cannot honestly say, for example, if someone approached you and asked, "What is life?" This would be very difficult to answer, or it may not be, depending on how you feel about how deep or shallow the question genuinely is. Additionally, what I say is that in life you could search for many things, and it may be tougher when it comes down to the most simplest things, you can get yourself stuck, and the only way out is to search for a meaning of why that particular "something" happened. Confusing stuff, I know, however, isn't life always confusing in a way? And don't we all want to know the answer for what the meaning of life really is?
Now... What I want you to do is to read only the words that I have made "bold", and think deeply about how you are feeling, shallow thoughts won't work at this precise moment, however, shallow thoughts could be deeper thoughts to others in some cases, whatever it may be, just take time and think through what you really want in your life, but most importantly, think of that particular something that has been on your mind for quite a while.
I know you are thinking of something, because everyone searches for something, these deep thoughts will help you find that something or someone one day!
Many times I think about what I want to happen within my life, and what I want to do in the future. Many people have their life figured out, and know exactly what they want, however not everyone does... I really need to think about many things, however the one question that keeps running through my head is, what do I really want?
I want to become something that I have always loved and have a strong passion for. Yet I always ask myself... maybe? Will it happen, maybe, maybe not! However I know that this so called "Something" that I want to be, is a dream, a dream in which I can't leave! I want to be an Actor, mainly because I have always adored watching such Films and TV Shows, and always dreamt of one day having the chance of being in one of them Films, or TV Shows. Many people say that Acting is a dead end job, that it is extremely hard... and yes it is! I know exactly how it works, having being brought up in a family where your dad is an Actor. Initally, having been on set, and watch my dad, "Dev Sagoo" Act, I knew straight away that this was the only thing that I want in my life, and that I couldn't see myself doing any other job! Mainly because I saw how the life of an Actor was, through watching my dad act out many scenes, whilst I was a young child.
Having acted in a short film, called "In The Field" (2005) with my dad, I experienced one of the most life changing things that a 13 year old child could ever go through! Having cameras and lights shining on you whilst the crew were watching you act out your scenes and having acted with many other actors, and my dad on set was incredible!
I knew from that moment on that being an Actor was what I wanted to do for the rest of my life.
I am now aged 18... and am hoping to continue my Acting Career once I finish College. I never enjoyed studying, and to be honest, I am not looking to go to University either! Call me crazy! But that's just me! You never know what you can achieve in life... unless you take risks! However, always have a backup plan in mind, just incase your dreams prove to be hard to reach, BUT! Dreams are always hard to achieve, however, that's what makes them "Dreams" you, and only YOU have to have the strength to fight for your dreams to come true, because if you just put yourself down, and say that your dreams will never come true... then you are a "quitter!" Never be that! Always think positive about what you really want to do in your life, and never let anyone stop you from reaching your dreams!
I know what I want now... And I will try my hardest to achieve this dream... no matter what happens... I know that Acting is what I have wanted to do ever since I was a child!
Well, I'm new to this site, but I have always wanted to share my thoughts and opinions with others.
So here I go...
I love playing piano!
Mainly because I really feel for music, it is the only thing in my life that I am really commited to, and therefore I just love sitting down, playing the piano, writing songs to the melodies that I play, and singing along... you know, basically what every average teenager who adores music does! "People haven't always been there for me but music always has." - Relates to me, and are also the lovely words quoted by the beautiful Miss Taylor Alison Swift.
- Who I adore! Not only because her lyrics, and her music speaks the truth about how she feels, or how her life has changed so much over the years, however, it's just the reality of her living her life, and enjoying what she does, not only as a musician, however as a person. When I saw her live in London at the O2 Shepherds Bush Empire on the 6th of May 2009, before her album Fearless went platinum, I knew that she was going to be a huge success, mainly because she was singing along on that stage, with her sparkly guitar one minute, and then the next, talking to her fans, and making them feel welcome. Moreover, I know that some people may say, "Shaan, why do you listen to Taylor Swift, your a guy?" However, I could just express that music has no limits, and certainly no gender boundaries! So what if I listen to Taylor Swift! She is a true artist, and I feel that she deserves her place in the music industry... forever and always.
Additionally, I believe that music isn't just a hobbie, music is something that speaks your emotions, even if you are just playing an instrument! So whoever you are, reading this blog, just remember one thing, and that is to be yourself... and achieve your dreams, because your life is, obviously, YOUR life! Therefore look in that mirror and tell yourself that you can be someone, don't let anyone crush your dream, but most of all, always remember that if you try hard and keep at it, you will eventually reach your lifelong dream! Hold onto hope, and never for one second doubt yourself!
